Britannia is a specialist construction and civil engineering contractor with over 50 years in the industry. Based in Cheltenham, we work throughout the South West, Central South, Midlands and South Wales focusing on the retail, commercial and industrial sectors, infrastructure, highway works, environmental management, leisure, education, public realm and mixed use development.
Our combined specialisms enable us to offer a wide range of disciplines enabling us to take on new build, fit-out, restoration and refurbishment as well as a comprehensive range of civil engineering services. Projects range from large multi-million pound design & build developments, complex supermarkets and shopping malls through to infrastructure works for residential developments, flood alleviation facilities, bridges and pedestrianisation schemes.
We have a flexible and professional approach and can respond to whichever form of procurement our clients prefer. We passionately believe that people and teams build buildings, encouraging a team approach from the outset which starts from prequalification, through tender, onto to contract award and project delivery and completion. Our approach results in an efficient and high quality service, which is both cost-effective and responsive to demanding time scales, often client expectations are exceeded by Britannia's ability to significantly reduce build programmes, sometimes by up to 20%. Around 70% of our turnover is from existing clients.
We are totally committed to health and safety and have an excellent record. Much effort and resources are put into ensuring that our workforce complies and exceeds Health and Safety standards and legislation. We are a Constructionline, CHAS and EXOR accredited contractor and hold a CSCS Platinum Standard Certificate of Commitment. We also register all of our sites with the Considerate Constructors Scheme, achieving year on year improving and high scores.
